The quiet of a cul-de-sac, ten minutes from the Atlantic
L'Atlantide is a carefully renovated 150 m² villa in the Landes, tucked away at the end of a peaceful dead-end street in Moliets-et-Maâ. On one side, a wooded garden opening onto the pool; on the other, a street where nobody drives past.
Four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large through living room with a wood-burning stove and a fully fitted open kitchen: the house was designed so that eight people can share it without living on top of each other. A study under the eaves for anyone extending their stay, a table-tennis table for rainy days, a gas plancha for all the others.
The village, its bakery and its market are 600 metres away. The beach and the largest planted forest in Europe are 3.2 km away. In between, cycle paths in the shade of the pines, where children can ride out in front.

Open from April to the end of October, with a wooden deck, sun loungers and a parasol. A swim before breakfast is entirely reasonable.

Living the Landes without wearing them out
The house sits between three fragile environments, pressed up against one another: the ocean, the dune and the forest. In July and August they take ten times more visitors than in winter. Here is what we do, and what we ask of you.
Short showers
Five minutes is plenty. The tap water comes from the aquifer, right under the villa.
Windows closed
Heating on means everything shut. Otherwise you are heating the garden.
Sort your waste, even on holiday
Yellow bin, glass separately, food waste to the compost. The instructions are in the kitchen.
Stay on the paths
Crossing the dune away from the boardwalks destroys it, step by step.
Moliets-et-Maâ, between forest and ocean
One of the few places on the Atlantic coast where pine forest, dune and ocean still touch one another. Here is what there is to do, in the order you tend to find it.
